Time to ring in the New year! But who really sticks to their New years resolutions? Here’s are tips that I personally believe can help you accomplish your goals for 2016
- Be specific – Whether it’s losing 5 pounds or going to the gym more often. The more specific the goal the better, imagine trying to lose weight… but the goal is how much? or reading more, but what kind of books? Generalizing a goal can ultimately lead to pure laziness because there is not one pinpoint of a target to achieve. This is where the next step comes in.
- Planning your progress – Progression is the best motivation a someone can have when achieving a goal. Like c’mon! who wouldn’t be motivated in losing 5 pounds and seeing the results to only be motivated to lose more? Planning requires organization and depending on your new years resolution goal.How do we track this progression and maintain our resolution you may ask? Well you can stick with an old school calendar or agenda, but with our techy generation, you can use an app.
For those who hope to save more money this year here’s a fancy app for you called Toshl Finance, this is a finance manager all in one app. It syncs with all your accounts to ensure you are not overspending and keep a budget and for those who has trouble remembering to pa
y their bills, there’s a notification for that!
Addicted and need to quit it? Quitter is an app to getting rid of those habits you made in your 2013 new years resolution that you never stuck to. An interesting and better way to show your progression and visually motivate you to remove that nasty habit!
For those “I need to do but I always forget to do” people out there, Todoist is an app that manages any project from anywhere and everywhere. Voted number 1 best to – do list apps by Forbes, this app works on any device platform available while organizing your tasks, sets due dates, and share your to -do’s on the list with others.
Want to lose weight with a personal weight loss coach? Lark is the app for you. Unlike most competing apps, this app actually makes you feel accomplished by the little things. Lark comments on your eating habits and often shows your activity levels in a graph compared to your average. Plus you’re constantly on your phone anyways, why not text your personal weight loss coach while you’re at it.
We all need an app that reminds us to get off Facebook when we take our “five minute” studying break. Pomodoro Timer, the app that helps your time management and elevates your productivity by customizing your working time and break times, and once all these smaller breaks have successfully gone through, you are rewarded with a bonus break!

For me, my resolution was to do something more than just browse the internet and watch youtube videos all day ( I still do that ) but now I have something to focus on and building myself. So that hopefully one day I’ll be making youtube videos for everyone and not just watching them 🙂
